Amends the State Constitution to remove the language that allows involuntary servitude (forced labor) in jails and prisons.
VOTE YES on Prop 32: Raises Minimum Wage To $18.
Raises minimum wage over 2 years to $18 per hour.
NEUTRAL on Prop 33: Expands Local Authority To Enact Rent Control On Residential Property. Expands local government authority to enact rent controls; repeals Costa-Hawkins Act.
NO POSITION on Prop 34: Restricts Spending By Health Care Providers Meeting Specified Criteria. Restricts spending of prescription drug revenues by some health care providers. When the LWVC has no position relevant to a ballot measure, we offer no analysis.
VOTE NO on Prop 35: Permanent Funding For Medi-Cal Health Care Services. Makes an existing health plan tax permanent (funds MediCal).
VOTE NO on Prop 36: Increase Penalties For Gheft And Drug Trafficking. Increases charges and sentences for certain drug and theft crimes; rolls back some provisions of Proposition 47.
