Join us to mark the 11th anniversary of an almost catastrophic explosion at the Torrance Refinery. It was a near-miss that could have caused a mass casualty disaster due to the presence of the chemical Hydrogen Fluoride (HF), used to make high octane gasoline.This Teach-in will protest the use of HF/MHF at both the Torrance and Wilmington refineries, and 38 others across the US. Program: Short presentations by Elected Officials, Candidates, Scientists, and Regulators. Environmental and community groups will have display tables and short videos running. Followed by an optional March to the front gate of the Torrance Refinery for photo ops.
